Your Guide to a 24-Hour Laundromat in North York

Need to do laundry at midnight or before your shift? Here's what to know about using The Laundry Centre's 24/7 self-serve laundromat on Victoria Park Ave.

If you've ever searched "laundromat open now" at 11pm, you know the feeling: the hamper's overflowing, your building's laundry room is closed (or broken), and tomorrow is already booked. That's exactly why The Laundry Centre's self-serve laundromat is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We're at 2780 Victoria Park Ave in North York, between Sheppard Ave E and Finch Ave E, right on the North York–Scarborough line. Here's everything you need to know before you come in.

When Is The Laundry Centre Open?

  • Self-serve washers and dryers: open 24/7, every day of the year.
  • Attended services (drop-off wash & fold, comforter cleaning and passport photos): daily from 9am to 6pm.

So you can wash at 6am before work, at 2am after a night shift, or on a Sunday afternoon. If you'd rather hand your laundry to someone else, come by during attended hours and drop it off for wash & fold.

Who Uses a 24-Hour Laundromat?

Pretty much everyone at some point, but we see a lot of:

  • Condo and apartment renters without in-suite laundry, or with a shared laundry room that's always busy.
  • Shift workers, nurses, drivers and anyone whose day doesn't match a 9-to-5 schedule.
  • Students from nearby schools who want to get a week's worth done in one visit.
  • Families washing bulky items like comforters, sleeping bags and duvets that don't fit in a home machine.
  • Anyone whose washer just broke and needs clean clothes tomorrow morning.

Tips for a Faster Laundromat Visit

  1. Sort at home. Separate darks, lights and delicates before you leave so you can load machines the moment you arrive.
  2. Use bigger machines for bulky loads. Comforters and blankets need room to move to come out clean.
  3. Don't overload. Clothes need space to tumble. An overstuffed washer cleans worse and an overstuffed dryer takes longer.
  4. Bring a laundry bag or basket for folding and carrying clean clothes home.
  5. Check pockets. Tissues, pens and lip balm are the top laundry-day disasters.
  6. Go off-peak if you can. Late evenings and early mornings are usually quieter than weekend afternoons.
