The Laundry Centre ("we", "us") runs a laundromat at 2780 Victoria Park Ave, North York, ON M2J 4A8, along with wash & fold, pickup and delivery, and commercial laundry services. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and our business portal, why, and what you can do about it. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What We Collect
When You Fill in a Form
- Pickup request: your name, phone, email and pickup address, plus any preferred date, time window and notes you add (such as a buzzer code).
- Commercial application: your business name, industry and address, the contact person's name, phone and email, your expected volume and schedule, and any requirements you mention.
- Contact form: your name, email and message, plus your phone number and topic if you give them.
With each form we also record the page it was sent from and any campaign tags in the link you followed (such as which ad or email it came from), so we know how people find us.
If Your Business Has a Portal Account
We keep your business's contact details and pickup address, pickup instructions, schedule, orders (weights, bag counts, item notes and delivery photos), any issues you report, ratings you leave, and your email preferences. For each team member we keep their email address, their name if given, and their role.
Automatically
To stop spam, we store a scrambled (salted and hashed) version of your IP address when you send a form. We never store the address itself.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits to our public pages and which buttons get used (such as Call, Get Directions or Request a Pickup, and whether a form was sent). It uses no cookies, doesn't identify you or follow you across other websites, and never sees what you type into a form. We don't use advertising trackers or tracking pixels.
How We Use It
- To answer your question, schedule your pickup, or review your application.
- To run your account: confirming pickups, recording orders and sending the emails you've chosen.
- To prevent spam and abuse of our forms.
- To keep the business records we're required to keep.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for anything you wouldn't reasonably expect.
Emails
Sending a form gets you a confirmation email, and we may reply by email or phone. Portal emails about your pickups and orders follow the settings on your Notifications page. A few, like missed pickups and schedule changes, are always sent because they're about your account.
We only send our occasional "How Did We Do?" email if you've ticked the box agreeing to it. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can also turn it off under Notifications in the portal.
Who We Share It With
Only with the services that run this website and our email, and only so they can do that job:
- Vercel hosts the website and provides the visit counts described above.
- Supabase stores our database and portal photos.
- Google (Gmail) sends our emails. We may move to Resend later.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is being sent by a person, not a bot. It sees your IP address and browser details while it does.
Some pages show maps. The live map on our Contact page loads from OpenFreeMap, and the map on our About page is a Google Maps embed, so those services see your IP address when the map loads. "Get directions" links open Google Maps or Apple Maps.
We'll also disclose information if the law requires it.
Where It's Stored
These providers may store and process your information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it can be subject to local laws.
Cookies
Our public pages set no cookies of their own. Signing in to the portal sets cookies that keep you signed in. If you close our "Open 24/7" card, your browser remembers that for the visit. Cloudflare Turnstile on our form pages and the Google Maps embed on our About page may set their own cookies.
How Long We Keep It
We keep form submissions and account records for as long as we need them to serve you and to keep proper business records. Ask us to delete your information and we will, unless we still need it for an active account or are required by law to keep it.
How We Protect It
Your information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Only our staff can see form submissions, and each business can only see its own portal data.
Your Choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent to emails at any time. To do any of this, email laundrycentre18@gmail.com or call 647-439-9996. We'll answer within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
