Toronto has plenty of laundry options, from corner laundromats to app-based delivery services. If you're trying one for the first time, these are the questions worth asking before you book.
1. How Is It Priced?
Most wash & fold and delivery services in Toronto charge by the pound. Some charge per bag or per item instead. Per-pound pricing is usually the easiest to predict: weigh your laundry and multiply.
At The Laundry Centre, drop-off wash & fold is $1.65/lb and pickup & delivery is $1.95/lb.
2. Is There a Minimum?
Almost every service has one. Ask what it is and plan your orders around it. Ours is 20 lb for drop-off and 35 lb for pickup and delivery.
3. How Are Bulky Items Priced?
Comforters, duvets and sleeping bags are heavy but take up a whole machine, so many services price them per item. We do: $25 for a double or twin comforter, $30 for a queen or king, $18 for a blanket, $20 for a sleeping bag and $7.50 per pillow.
4. Do You Serve My Neighbourhood?
Delivery services cover specific areas. We pick up and deliver across Toronto, North York, Scarborough, East York, Etobicoke, Markham, Vaughan, Woodbridge, Maple and Pickering. If you're on the edge of an area, ask.
5. How Long Will It Take?
Turnaround varies widely between services and depends on the day. Ask when you book so you can plan around it.
6. How Do I Book?
Look for a service that's easy to reach. You can request a pickup online or call us at 647-439-9996.
7. Can I Drop Off Instead?
If the service has a storefront, drop-off is often cheaper than delivery. Our store at 2780 Victoria Park Ave in North York takes drop-offs daily 9am–6pm.
8. What If I Just Want to Do It Myself?
A good laundry business gives you options. Our self-serve laundromat is open 24/7.
The Bottom Line
The best laundry service is one with clear pricing, a minimum that fits your household, and coverage where you live. See all our prices on the pricing page or visit our Toronto page.
